You deserve a smile that’s as “sunny” as your surroundings and your disposition. Yellow discoloration and stains, gaps and uneven spacing, excessive wear, chips, and other surface imperfections can mar your smile. Led by Dr. Trevor Williams, Williams Family and Cosmetic Dentistry create or restores a healthy smile that shines with advanced cosmetic dental treatments in Brandon, FL.
Staining foods and products, such as coffee and tobacco, can lead to a build-up of pigmented particles on tooth enamel. Teeth also may appear more yellow over time as enamel erodes. Professional teeth whitening is one of the fastest ways to dramatically improve your facial appearance. When planned and overseen by a dentist like Dr. Williams, professional whitening is:
We use gels that contain powerful whitening ingredients, which are clinically proven to lift stains. Unlike many OTC products, these gels are sufficiently concentrated with peroxide-based whiteners to lighten your teeth. The gel is applied safely, comfortably, and evenly to the teeth with oral appliances that are customized to your mouth’s contours. We’ll show you how to fill the whitening tray with gel. When worn as directed by your dentist, the tray delivers whitening gel to break up stains gradually. Many patients get the whiter smile that they’re after within around one to two weeks of daily wear. Those results can be sustained with periodic touch-ups and by following tailored guidance provided by our dental team.
Dr. Williams skillfully disguises a number of different cosmetic concerns, from stubborn intrinsic discoloration to excess spaces between teeth, with veneers. We offer two different types of veneers:
Veneers use a dental material that is prepared to address your unique needs. The material is then placed on the prepared, natural tooth surface. Direct veneers, or dental bonding, use composite resin. This pliable material is color-matched to your teeth. Dr. Williams slightly abrades the enamel. So, the resin sticks securely to the natural tooth structure. Once applied to the teeth, the resin is artfully sculpted to cover up gaps and other imperfections or to add length to a worn-down tooth. He can even reshape an irregularly-contoured tooth to bring balance to your smile.
Porcelain veneers are generally a two-visit procedure. During the first appointment, a small amount of natural enamel is removed. So, when the thin porcelain veneer is placed, it doesn’t stick out too much. Your smile won’t look fake or bulky. Impressions of your teeth are taken. These molds are used by ceramicists to make your permanent veneers. Once those veneers are complete, you’ll return to our office. Before the veneers are “fixed” in place, Dr. Williams will check that they fit well and look great. Final adjustments are made so, everything looks perfect. Our patients like that porcelain mimics natural tooth structure so well and that it also resists stains.
Invisalign® is a removable alternative to conventional braces to comfortably, precisely, and discreetly straighten teeth and correct overbite, underbite, and other bite-related problems. Instead of fixed wires, brackets, and bands, Invisalign® uses a series of smooth, transparent, BPA-free aligner trays to reposition teeth incrementally. Trays should be worn as instructed by your dentist. They should only be removed for eating and cleaning. Our patients love that they were able to enjoy foods throughout treatment without braces getting in the way. They’re also able to clean effectively and thoroughly between teeth; there is no metal to contend with.
Restorative treatments, such as crowns, are also aesthetic in addition to providing a durable way to rebuild your smile. Technologies such as digital imaging and intraoral cameras aid in precision planning of treatments and also assure a comfortable, no-stress experience at the dentist’s office—Call (813) 560-0447 to schedule your smile consultation at Williams Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in Brandon.
