Good oral hygiene is an integral part of your overall health and well-being. If left untreated, plaque and decay can accumulate and compromise the integrity of your teeth and their underlying structures. That can harm not only the look but also the feel and function of your teeth; it can have a profound impact on your heart health and may lead to other conditions affecting the rest of your body. Luckily, prevention is the most effective form of treatment for most dental health issues. The majority of complex health issues are prevented with regular brushing and flossing and routine visits for check-ups and teeth cleaning with a professional dentist like Dr. Trevor Williams at Williams Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in Brandon, FL.
Dr. Williams is a board-certified dentist with years of experience treating patients of all ages. He works closely with every patient he sees, striving to understand your goals and how he can best help you achieve them. No two patients are alike, and Dr. Williams always tailors care to suit the individual, not just the symptoms. He brings a gentle hand and a wealth of expertise to every appointment.
From the minute you walk in the door, every element of Williams Family & Cosmetic Dentistry is designed to make sure you’re comfortable and confident in your care. Our expert staff is knowledgeable about treatment, financing, and any other questions or concerns you may have. This revolutionary new imaging device allows us to take precise 3D images of your jaw and its underlying structures with the use of a small, comfortable wand.
At your first appointment, we’ll do a comprehensive exam, consulting your medical history. We’ll also talk with you about your goals, making sure we offer treatment that corresponds to your specific vision of oral health. And discuss treatment plans specific to your needs.
At your second appointment, your hygienist will do a thorough exam and clean your teeth. Depending on your symptoms, or the length of time since your last dental work, a standard check-up may include:
Afterward, your dentist may recommend specific dental treatments based on the results of the exam. If any treatments are required or suggested, you and your dentist will go over the benefits, so you’ll have the knowledge and opportunity to be an active participant in your care. We don’t push unnecessary treatment but instead try to partner with our patients to determine the best course of care based on the situation.
