A beautiful smile is one of the first things people notice about you. It can make you feel more confident and self-assured. On the other hand, a misaligned smile can make you feel self-conscious and embarrassed. If you are unhappy with your smile, you may be considering realigning it with Invisalign. Williams Family and Cosmetic Dentistry of Brandon, Florida, is the best place for Invisalign “near me” for local patients.
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses clear plastic aligners to straighten teeth. Aligners are custom-made for each patient and are worn for about two weeks at a time. The aligners gradually move your teeth into the correct position throughout the treatment. Invisalign is a popular orthodontic treatment because it is discreet and comfortable. Invisalign is often used to straighten smiles with minor misalignment issues or moderate malocclusion.
Your aligners will gradually shift your teeth into position throughout the treatment (which typically lasts about 6 months). As you change aligners, you will start to see the results. Your dentist tracks your progress to monitor your treatment along the way. At first, some patients may experience a mild discomfort and slight pressure on their teeth and gums while their teeth realign underneath them. For many patients, though, this discomfort is short-lived. Patients need to comply fully with treatment to avoid additional trays that can derail the original timeframe for the completed smile.
Your teeth are a valuable asset. You only get one adult set of teeth, so it makes the best sense to take good care of them. If you have issues with misalignment, consider seeing Dr. Trevor Williams of Brandon, FL, for a consultation on Invisalign.
